Reclaim Mahogany Slab Bench

The rough slab I started with:
 This eighty year old Bailey hand plane was actually my grandfather's:
 After planing and final sanding:
After finishing with hand-rubbed, high-gloss polyurethane: 

 I left the old hash marks from the original saw milling intact on this bookmatched end:
I built the supports from old barn door hinges: 
 I welded in a rigid support to make the hinge into a stationary bracket:
 High-gloss black paint with the HVLP gun:
 The final product:
This bench is now in a loft in the Five Points community of downtown Atlanta, Georgia.

Industrial Reclaim Mahogany Slab Side Tables

These two tables were built from a reclaim Mahogany slab which I hand-carved Maple butterfly keys into.

Industrial Reclaim Cedar Bookshelves

This Cedar bookshelf unit was built from 1/2" steel box tubing, fully-welded, and painted black. 
The wood was finished with four coats of high-gloss Spar Varnish.
It's new home is in Kennesaw, Georgia

Reclaim Western Cedar Table

These are a few of the salvaged boards which make up the Cedar table.
They were saved from a demolition project in Alpharetta, Georgia.
After planing and jointing:
 A showing of the grain character:
After cutting and sanding: 
 Initial assembly of the tabletop:
First coat of Tung Oil: 
 After five coats of Tung Oil:
Table completed and seven coats of hand-rubbed Tung Oil later: 


This table will soon be with its new owner in Kennesaw, Georgia, in August of 2014.
